Short Bio

By God’s grace, I’m the author of the novels The Methuselah Project, Gunner’s Run, Kiriath’s Quest, and over 200 articles and fiction stories. In addition to being a writer and World War II buff, my main role is Director of Church Planting ministries at BIEM, a Christian ministry active in Eastern Europe. I hold a degree in foreign languages, speak Russian, and every summer I assist with children’s camps in Eastern Europe. I live near Indianapolis with my wonderful wife Pam. Info Nuggets

• I speak Russian and worked as Assistant to Georgi Vins, the famous Russian preacher who spent 8 years in Soviet prisons and labor camps before being exiled to the U.S. as part of a dramatic prisoner swap in 1979. (My wife Pam also worked in that ministry as the bookkeeper.)
• In 2015, I toured deserted buildings in and around Chernobyl, Ukraine, the site of the 1986 nuclear disaster. (Look for inspiration from that trip to appear in future novels.)
• Confession: I first tried my hand at novel writing while a 5th grader. I called it quits after two paragraphs and wadded up the evidence of that attempt!
• My Dad, Tom Barry, became a pilot during his teenage years in the 1940s. As a result, I grew up around airplanes, airports and air shows. That background influences my writing to this day.
